Illinois Attractions

Illinois is a predominantly rural state. Large expanses of rich, flat farmland are dotted with the occasional small agricultural community or county seat. Known as the "Land of Lincoln", most of the sites related to the president are concentrated in Springfield, the heart of the state. Some rather unusual and picturesque scenery can be found in this state and visitors eager to discover more of Illinois will not be disappointed by the rich mix of historical sites, recreational activities, and vibrant suburbs that the outlying areas have to offer.
