When it comes to arts and culture Washington doesn't fall short. Having an international border and multiple seaports, it was a gate for multiple cultures to coalesce. As a stronghold of Native American arts and culture, its variety includes loggers, fishermen, cowboys, software billionaires and legendary rock musicians. And how many things spawned in Washington! Just to name a few: Starbucks, Amazon.com, Boeing, Microsoft and Jimi Hendrix. Washington is a place where the history melts with latest technological advances offering a unique steep view into the past and gaze towards the future.
Outdoor activities are plenty in Washington as well. There are fast and furious rivers ready to be challenged in rafting or kayaking, but also lazy and slow streams where one can relax while tubing for hours. You may ski down a mountain or attempt to climb to its highest peak. Or maybe you like the Sun and the heat? Then go beachcombing or clamming on the coast. Try fishing - you can do it in the deep Pacific sea or on the fast mountain streams. You can go whale watching in the San Juan Islands or scuba diving with the seals in the Puget Sound. Or maybe such wild adventures are not your type and you would rather go bird watching in the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. If there is something that you like, you will probably find it in Washington.
